Analyse of Cover

- Very subtle tones colours
- The background is ombre / different brown and grey     tones
- Unusual pose. Represents her confusion which           highlights the question furthermore. Disappointment,    uncertainty, etc. Unconventional.
- Identity crisis. Self-reflection.
- The shape of the model's hairline is in the shape of a     heart, indicating a warm approach to the readers.
- Again, minimal makeup
- Peculiar pose for a magazine cover, creates an              enigma to question the purpose of it - links to the           question typed "who are the new generation of              teens?"
- Her facial expression shows confusion, as though        she is asking that question.
- Low-key aiming to force a new stereotype to their         target market - teenage girls.
- "TEEN GOSSIP - ACTING - VINTAGE", indicates      the topics included in the magazine
- "who", direct address with the reader.
- They have the price £5.00 in the bottom corner, not      the main focus of the magazine, in order to make the    main cover stories and image the focus for the reader.
- The price implies they have disposable income.
- High price because they release a magazine only 6 times a year. Therefore, offers a more specialised content.
- The basic setting could be in a bedroom, therefore, indicating comfort.
- The various tones of grey indicates a metaphor for adolescence.
BINARY OPPOSITION
- The background is very dark and gloomy (almost blurry), whereas the model is lighter which              enhances the reader's focus onto her.
- Teenagers go through emotional highs and lows, this is presented through the binary opposition of       the structure and format of the magazine cover.
